How I approach it

From spam folder to inbox

  1. 1 Checking the domain I read your DNS and see right away what is missing or clashing.
  2. 2 Finding every sender Accounting, web shop, newsletter: who sends email for you?
  3. 3 Setting it up properly SPF, DKIM and DMARC step by step, without losing email.
  4. 4 Monitoring Reports show whether it stays that way, and who tries abuse.

What I take care of

Large providers such as Gmail and Outlook have become much stricter in recent years. Without the right settings your email is increasingly rejected or marked as spam, even when you do nothing wrong.
  • SPF: which servers may send email for your domain
  • DKIM: a digital signature under every email
  • DMARC: what should happen to email that does not check out
  • BIMI: your logo next to your email in supporting inboxes
  • Moving to or cleaning up Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
  • Transferring domains and documenting DNS clearly

Email from your software too

Invoices from your accounting tool, confirmations from your web shop, notifications from your own application: all of that email has to arrive as well. I make sure every service that sends on your behalf is registered, so a stricter DMARC policy never blocks your own email.

Protection against abuse

Without DMARC anyone can send email that looks like it comes from your domain. That is used for fake invoices and phishing aimed at your customers. With a properly configured DMARC policy, receivers reject that email and you get reports on who is trying.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How do I know whether my settings are right?

Send me your domain name. I will check your current SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for free and tell you what is missing.

Will I lose email while you change things?

No. I build up DMARC step by step, monitoring first and only blocking afterwards, so legitimate email keeps arriving.

Do I need to switch email provider?

Usually not. It works with what you have now, whether that is Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or the email from your hosting company.
